Important information from DIMETAPP

Understanding the SAFE USE of Pediatric Cough and Cold Medicines

INFANT PRODUCTS
Wyeth Consumer Healthcare Canada is voluntarily withdrawing infant cold products from the market to help reduce dosing errors and overdoses in children under age 2. This age group of children is the most vulnerable to overdose and misuse of cough and cold medicines. We feel that this action will help clarify appropriate usage for medicines in this product category.

The following products will be voluntarily withdrawn:

Dimetapp® Oral Infant Cold Drops 50mL (22850)

Dimetapp® Oral Infant Cold and Fever Drops 50mL (22855)

Dimetapp® Oral Infant Cold Drops Dye Free 50mL (23220), 10mL (23215)

Dimetapp® infant products are not to be confused with Dimetapp® or Robitussin® over-the-counter cough and cold products for use in adults and children age two and older.

In addition, Wyeth Consumer Healthcare is in the process of voluntarily changing its cough and cold product labels to further help reduce dosing errors and overdoses. Specifically, for children under age two, the new labeling will advise doctors and parents "Do not use in children under two years of age."

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARENTS TO REMEMBER

Under 2:

Ages 2 to 6:
